Back To School!

The older boys went back to school today! Tyler is starting 4th grade in Mrs. Bulger's class. Ryan is starting 2nd grade in Miss Thacker's class. Both boys are happy to go back and see their friends. I'm happy to get back on our regular schedule and actually have Kenny home this year to help with homework and bedtime etc!

T.P. Anyone?

We've been TP-ed a couple times within the last month. When Kenny was serving in the Young Men, it used to happen pretty regularly. The youth said they wouldn't do it if they didn't like us. Usually it was done by Robert who also babysat our kids. At first the boys (especially Mckay) would get mad that somebody made a mess in our yard, but when we explained to them that Robert was playing a silly trick on us, they thought it was fun and would tell Robert to come clean it up. Well, Robert moved to California to live with his Dad last year, so it has been a while. A couple weeks ago though, we noticed TP flying in our trees again and the boys thought Robert was back in town. After talking to several other families that were hit, we discovered the culprit. Kenny mentioned something to him at church on Sunday and his eyes got real big and asked "HOW DO YOU KNOW?"

St. Johns

For our last week of summer vacation, the boys and I went with Mindy and her kids to St. Johns to visit her Mom. Mindy needed some dental work done and her uncle is a dentist there. The kids had a great time running and playing outside. They chased the kitties, played basketball, worked on fixing up their clubhouse (otherwise known as the shack), made an obstacle course, and built a catapult. It was nice to get out of the heat and let the kids run! Thanks Mindy for a great trip!

Breaking Dawn Book Party

Friday night, a bunch of girls from our ward went to the Breaking Dawn book party at Borders. We all had matching shirts made that said "Got Blood?" on the front and "Bitten and Smitten" on the back. We hung around for the trivia contest and t-shirt contest, then they started lining up to get the books. The lines were very long, so we went over to walmart and were only 20 people back to get our books there. Then some of us went to IHOP for a late treat! It's always lots of fun with just the girls!
