New Calling!

Last Wednesday, we had a high counselor in our stake drop by to visit and give Kenny a new calling. (We were kind of thrown with it being a high counselor, but I guess every ward and stake delegates differently.) Kenny will now be serving as first counselor in the Elders Quorum in our ward. This is new and different for us. Kenny has been serving in the YM/Scouts for most of our marriage. He has hardly ever been able to go to Elders' Quorum. They didn't release him from scouts yet, because his replacement has to get trained first, so he will be doing double duty for a couple weeks. I'm excited he won't have any more camp outs or scout meetings to go to after that. Tyler was a little disappointed to loose Kenny as his leader, but Tyler will be 12 in October and moving into Young Men's soon anyway. We don't really know the other Elders he'll be serving with but it looks like for the first time Kenny is the oldest of the group. Aaron Walker is the President, Bob Eardley is the second counselor, and Chase Thompson is the secretary. The Walker's, Eardley's and Thompson's each only have one son. They all seem like great people and we are glad to get to know more people in our ward.
